Affiliate Shakedown

It’s not unusual to have problems when you’re just getting started with affiliate marketing.

I’m going to take to you about a couple of the most common problems.  And hopefully you’ll be able to avoid making the same mistakes I did – and so many others do again and again.

If you are experiencing issues, don’t worry about it!  (Most people have some problems when they first start out)

First of all, the fear of failure is nothing new.  Pick up nearly any magazine or book about entrepreneurship and you’ll probably read something about this horrible affliction.  To get to the bottom of the fear of failure, you have to figure out just what it is you’re afraid of. Some people are afraid of being embarrassed if they fail. Others are afraid they will spend a lot of time on something that doesn’t make them any money. Some just plain don’t like to fail at anything.

What you have to do is figure out why you’re so afraid to fail and tackle it dead on!

If you don’t want to be embarrassed, do your affiliate marketing behind the scenes and don’t make a big deal of it until you ARE successful!

If you are afraid you’ll spend a lot of time on it and you won’t make money, just take baby steps and do a little here and there. Once you make some money, it will boost your confidence. If you don’t like to fail, get over it! Everyone fails from time to time. (Just ask Ben Franklin about failure!)

Ok, you can’t ASK him, but Google Ben Franklin and “failure” and you’ll see what I mean!

The other major problem new affiliate marketers have is they just don’t know where to start!

There are so many ways to make money with affiliate marketing.  How can you tell which one is best for you, or which would make you the most money?

Well, I have a guide that is meant just for newbies and those who are still struggling with affiliate marketing.  It takes you step-by-step through everything you need to do to get started!  I think you’ll really find it useful if you’re having trouble getting started!  Click here to get it!

Do You Market Using Blogs, Twitter, Social Sites, Or Articles?…

Magic Banner Bot SoftwareIf you currently market through blogs, forums, articles, Twitter, or any of the social sites, then you’re going to LOVE the new Magic Banner Bot.

This software solves one of the biggest problems with social/blog/article marketing.

With these types of marketing, you can’t just promote your own sales sites and affiliate links all the time. If you do, you will likely lose all your visitors/friends/followers. (And for social sites, you can even get banned from the site altogether).

So you need to maintain credibility, by discussing other things and other web pages.

For example, if you were in a “dog” niche, you’d discuss interesting dog issues and websites.

This means you need to promote some web pages without getting paid anything for it.  But Magic Banner Bot addresses this issue, by allowing you to put your own advertising “Magic Banner” on these web pages, when you post or tweet about them.

You still get credibility from promoting the page – but you also get the benefits of advertising your own offers or affiliate links at the same time.

Magic Banners are much more effective than ordinary banners, because they “float” above the page and scroll with it, drawing the attention of the visitor. This directly translates into more clicks – and more money.  This gives you a powerful new way to boost your profits, with very little extra effort.

But Is It Legal?

Don’t Worry!  Magic Banner Bot does not actually change web pages when it adds a Magic Banner to them. It uses technology called an “overlay frame” which is placed over the top of the web page by the visitors browser (this feature is supported by all the major browsers). There are therefore no copyright issues with using Magic Banners. Owners of websites can block “overlay frame” technology if they wish, but very few owners actually do so because it reduces their chances of getting links/traffic to their sites.

PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click – a popular advertising technique on the Internet. Found on websites, advertising networks, and especially on search engines, PPC advertising involves sponsored links that are typically in the form of text ads. These are usually placed close to search results, where an advertiser pays a particular amount to visitors who click on these links or banners and land on the advertiser’s web page.

In essence, PPC advertising is all about bidding for the top or leading position on search engine results and listings.

Advertisers do this by buying or bidding on keyword phrases that are relevant to their products or services – the higher the bid, the higher the spot on the search results, the more the people will find the ad (and click on it) to go to their websites (this is why some people call it “keyword auctioning“). Advertisers would then pay the bidding price every time a visitor clicks through the website.

PPC advertising is also known under the following names/variations:

  • Pay per placement
  • Pay per performance
  • Pay per ranking
  • Pay per position
  • Cost per click (CPC)

PPC advertising is usually done with the following standard procedures:
1. Setting up an account and/or deposit funds.
2. Creating a keyword list.
3. Choosing (and setting up) an account with a PPC search engine.
4. Bidding on the ad placement, including the search result words or phrases.
5. Writing out an ad copy.
6. Setting up the ‘landing pages’ for your ads.
7. Placing the advertisement in the search engine.

There are many benefits to Pay Per Click advertising, making it an effective way of promoting a business ‘online’.

Here’s a fact: People buy from those they know, like and trust.

In other words, people like to do business with those with whom they’ve built a relationship. And one of the best ways to build a relationship with your prospects is via your email list.  And by encouraging your prospects to interact with you and/or get active on your site.

Here are tips to help you do exactly that:

Let me lay out the cold, harsh truth:  You may be at risk of sabotaging your own success.

This might surprise you.  It might leave you incredulous. It might even have you confidently saying “Not me, not now, not ever!”

And I hope you’re right.  But the fact is, lots of entrepreneurs experience fear at one time or another.

And that fear manifests in a variety of ways.

Most commonly, you’ll see it in the forms of procrastination, perfectionism or ‘analysis paralysis’. Sometimes you’ll second-guess yourself a lot. Sometimes you’ll just realize that failure – or maybe even success – sparks a little fear in you.

However, sometimes you have this fear buried so deep that you can’t even begin to recognize it. It doesn’t manifest in an obvious way, such as procrastination. Because if you would procrastinate, then you would only have yourself to blame if you didn’t do the work and follow your dreams.  That’s why people self sabotage.

It gives you a way to derail your dreams without the guilt of knowing that you’re the one who hindered your own success. That’s because clever self-saboteurs sabotage themselves in a way that makes it look like someone else is to blame.

Let me give you an example…

Many new affiliate marketers use sheer force to make their sales. That is, they get their affiliate link in front of as many prospects as possible in hopes of squeezing out at least a 1% conversion rate.

But doesn’t that sound like a lot of work?

And you can bet the “super affiliates” don’t rely solely on big traffic numbers to pull in their massive sales and higher-than-average response rates.  Sure, traffic is a part of the equation.

But there’s more to it than that.

And when you apply the following tips, the vendors might just start calling you a super affiliate, too!
