Wow!  Okay I’m already flattered that you care

But seeing as you’re here… let me tell you a little bit about me and why this site is here.

First of all my name is Simon Hodgkinson – Between the part time (and top secret) superhero activities (fighting crime, saving the world and generally looking good in brightly coloured, spandex superhero suits) I’m also what many refer to as an ‘Internet Marketer’ and I’ve been doing that all the way back to the heady days of summer 2000.

I own a publishing company here in the UK (Hodgkinson Publishing Ltd) and I’m a partner and director of two US based companies (MemberSpeed Inc. & PowerHouse Technology LLC) with my good friend and drinking buddy, Jeremy Gislason.  (so I guess that also makes me a business owner and publisher)

After a ‘slimming down’ of our network of sites Hodgkinson Publishing now operates approximately 150 active web sites (I say ‘approximately‘ because it still seems to go up on a daily basis and no one in my company knows for certain? – yep and I pay these guys good money!) when we were full steam ahead a couple of years back (the Crazy Years!) that figure was somewhere in the region of 300… 

Over the years I’ve written dozens of books on marketing, some of the more recent ones you’ll find on Amazon including:  ‘Bare Knuckle Blogging‘,  ’Optimized Entrepreneur‘ & ‘Digital Publishing Tycoon‘ - 

So you can add ‘Writer‘ to the ‘Internet Marketer’, ‘Business Owner’ and ‘Publisher’ labels…

Now writing for me is one of those double edged sword thingies…  Some days I love to write.  And armed with a constant flow of coffee and my favourite Yorkshire Tea biscuits can rattle off page after page.  And then other days, NOTHING…  brain turns to mush and rambling out a short email to my subscribers is about the best I can muster. 

And speaking of subscribers, I love those guys, over the years they’ve put up with some pretty oddball subject lines, plenty of crazy ideas, rants and enough goofy stuff to fill a small warehouse…  If you’re already subscribed to one of my regular newsletters accept my thanks (and my apologies)

So why this site:  Good question.  Well over the last few years I’ve got kind of weary with some of the absolute crap (pardon the language) I see going on in our business…  While making money online is pretty straightforward and just takes a little ‘know-how’ and practice, there are so many so called ‘experts’ peddling drivel that I think it’s time to get back to basics and clear the air a little. 

Look the thing is I know some visitors to this page will probably have never heard my name before… But I assure you I’ve been there, I know what it’s like to start from the ground up and make plenty of mistakes.  I know how frustrating this industry can be and how difficult it can seem to hit one of those big home runs… 

So the Web Insider Club is in part, one way for me to give back a little.  I can share some of the ideas and strategies I’ve used over the years that have generated millions of Dollars in online sales for my business (yep I’ve done the 7 figures in a week stuff, but I’ve also had the blowouts and the ‘tukeys’ too)   – I’ve generated six figure affiliate commissions, built huge lists of subscribers and members and literally melted webservers with traffic, so I reckon I can help. 

As 2010 is trundelling along I think it’s time we got to know each other more and started working together – We can do some great stuff as a team (and of course individually to improve our own businesses) online or offline…
