Many new affiliate marketers use sheer force to make their sales. That is, they get their affiliate link in front of as many prospects as possible in hopes of squeezing out at least a 1% conversion rate. 

But doesn’t that sound like a lot of work?

And you can bet the “super affiliates” don’t rely solely on big traffic numbers to pull in their massive sales and higher-than-average response rates.  Sure, traffic is a part of the equation.

But there’s more to it than that.

And when you apply the following tips, the vendors might just start calling you a super affiliate, too!

Start with the right product.

Super affiliates know that one of the big keys to success is to start with the right product. That means you need to know your prospects and then find products that match their desires.

EXAMPLE: If you promote a copywriting product to a list of marketers who’re looking for tips on increasing their traffic, you’re going to get a lukewarm response. But promote this same product to a targeted group of aspiring copywriters, and you could see your conversion rates hit the double-digits!

Use social proof.

Your prospects trust you… to a degree. But they also know you get a commission for recommending products, so there’s always that part of them that’s skeptical.

That’s why you need to prove what you say.  You can do this by offering case studies, live journals, testimonials from other people, screenshots, photos and whatever other proof fits the product.

Pre-sell the product.

Super affiliates know that the vast majority of prospects won’t buy the first time they land on a sales page. And that means you need to pre-sell the product.   You can do this with pre-launch, anticipation-building emails if it’s a new product.

For older products, you can offer product reviews and even direct pitches that detail the benefits of the product. And regardless of what type of product it is, you giving your strong endorsement will help spur sales, particularly with those subscribers who already trust you.

Point is, you want your prospects to make the buying decision even before they see the sales page.

Give people a reason to buy from you.

Finally, you need to give your prospects a reason to buy from you rather than your competing affiliates.

You can do this by:

Adding value to an offer, such as by giving away a bonus product or service to those who buy from your link.  This is by far one of the best ways to increase your commission paychecks, just make sure whatever you are offering is highly relevant and complimentary to the product or service you are promoting.

Offering a discount. Once you have some ‘history’ behind you, you’ll be able to leverage your reputation and perhaps arrange a special discount or incentivized offer for your readers directly with the vendor.  Remember the saying here is that ‘if you don’t ask you won’t get’ – So ask…  you might be surprised at the kind of deal you could put together.

Bottom line: Super affiliates don’t use a “shotgun approach” or otherwise make a massive amount of sales by accident.  Instead, they use tricks and sales tactics such as adding value, offering proof and putting the right offer in front of the right prospects. And you can use these tactics to put more money in your pocket, too!
