Here’s a fact: People buy from those they know, like and trust.

In other words, people like to do business with those with whom they’ve built a relationship. And one of the best ways to build a relationship with your prospects is via your email list.  And by encouraging your prospects to interact with you and/or get active on your site.

Here are tips to help you do exactly that:

  • Ask for your readers’ feedback. You can ask your readers about most anything that matters to them. The main point, however, is just to get them to interact with you.

EXAMPLE: You might ask your newsletter readers to submit questions that you’ll answer in a future issue. Or you might ask them for feedback about the design of your new site. Or perhaps you’ll ask them about what types of products they’d like to see you create.

Encourage your readers to post a comment on your blog. The idea here is to send a tantalizing “teaser” about a blog post, especially one that’s controversial (a “hot button” topic in your niche). Then you ask your readers to give their opinions on the topic.

Feel free to post a comment here by the way :-D

  • Get your readers to post on your forum. Instead of asking them to comment on a specific post on your blog, you can instead point them to a forum discussion.

Ideally you should point them to a discussion that’s already in progress. If, however, you know that your list already has active readers, then you can ask them to post a few questions.

  • Request beta testers or reviewers for a new product. This is one of the best ways to get your subscribers to interact with you. And that’s because asking people to “beta test” or review a product gives your reviewers a sense of “ownership” with regards to the product.

Folks who beta test your products are more likely to feel loyal towards you. And as a nice bonus, those who beta test or preview a product often recommend or tell others about the product when you’re ready to launch it.

Get them to participate in a contest. Yet another way to get people to interact with you and on your site is by encouraging them to participate in a contest.

However, this isn’t just a regular “random drawing” contest. Instead, you want your subscribers to actually become involved with your products.

EXAMPLE: you can have your readers post a promotional video for your new product. Or you can have them write a 500-word essay about why your product is the best solution on the market.  The point is, not only do you get your subscribers to interact, you also get them to sell themselves on buying your product!

There you have it – five ways to get your newsletter subscribers to interact with you. Once they start interacting, they’ll begin to like and trust you. And once that happens, your conversion rate will blossom!
